Questions people ask
Mostly one question in different forms: is this fare for real. Here is the honest answer, and the others we get asked at checkout.
Is the price on the board really what I pay?
Yes. Every fare on the board includes taxes and fees from the first screen, the same rule our hotel sites follow. The number next to a flight is the number your card is charged. There is no drip pricing and no fee added at the last step.
The one honest caveat: airline fares move. If a fare re-prices between the results page and checkout, we show you the old and new price side by side before you enter any details, and you decide.
Is this a real ticket?
Yes. The reservation is made with the airline through our flight partner, which aggregates the same reservation systems travel agents use. You get our booking reference and an airline PNR, the code the airline itself knows your booking by. If you want to be certain, look up the PNR with your last name on the airline's own website.
The PNR usually arrives in your confirmation email within minutes; occasionally the airline takes a little longer to issue it, and we email it the moment it lands.
Who charges my card?
Payment is taken at checkout, through the booking partner that places the reservation with the airline. The amount you see at checkout is the amount charged, in the currency shown. Your card details never touch our servers.
Why do you need passport details before payment?
Because the airline requires them to hold the seat: a flight reservation is made in the passenger's name against a travel document, unlike a hotel room. Enter names exactly as they appear on the document you'll fly with. The details go to the airline's reservation system and are used for nothing else.
Can I cancel or change my flight?
It depends on the fare. Where the airline publishes its change and refund rules, we show them before you pay; the cheapest fares are usually non-changeable and non-refundable, which is true everywhere and is part of why they are cheap.
To change or cancel, email support@sleepfare.com with your booking reference and we take it up with the airline. We are honest about this being by email for now: you get a person, not a self-serve button.
What about baggage?
Allowance depends on the airline and the fare, and the cheapest fares often include hand luggage only. Once you have your PNR you can add bags directly with the airline, usually cheaper before the airport than at it. If you are unsure what your fare includes, email us the booking reference and we'll check.
What if the airline changes or cancels my flight?
Schedule changes and cancellations come from the airline and land at the contact email on your booking, so keep an eye on it before you fly. If a change doesn't work for you, email support@sleepfare.comwith your booking reference and we chase the airline for the rerouting or refund you're entitled to. We are a small team, so you get a person rather than a ticket queue, and not instantly at 3am.
Do you do hotels too?
Yes: Boardfare is the flights side of the Sleepfare network. The fare you see is the fare you pay, taxes and fees included, and the real saving is on the room. If you're flying somewhere we sell rooms, search the same city on Sleepfare and keep the difference on the hotel.
Anything not answered here, email support@sleepfare.com. The full terms are on the terms page, and what we do with your data is on the privacy page. Boardfare is part of the Sleepfare network.
