Good location, but elevator not functioning properly and poor staff communication.

The location.

− The location is excellent and was the best part of the accommodation. However, the elevator had a serious problem when going up: on several occasions it stopped and we got trapped inside, having to open the door manually to get out. It worked normally when going down, but every time we needed to go up, especially while traveling with a child, we ended up using the stairs as if it were an eighth-floor building. I consider this to be a maintenance and safety issue that should be fixed. In addition, communication with the owner was very poor. We wrote to him about the dustpan to clean after the beach, and even when we called because we were trapped inside, he did not answer. Unfortunately, the lack of attention and response made our experience even worse. I have photos and videos to support everything that happened

− Hello, We would like to submit a formal complaint regarding the apartment we stayed in in Barcelona from 18 to 23 June 2026, Apartamento Rambla Catalunya (Aragó, 249) The stay did not meet our expectations, and we believe the standard of the apartment was unacceptable. We are therefore requesting compensation or a refund for the stay. The most serious issue was a strong and persistent sewage smell inside the apartment, particularly in the bathroom and bedroom. The smell was very intense and made it unpleasant to spend time in the apartment, especially at night. The two people who slept in the bedroom woke up every morning to a room filled with an extremely unpleasant sewage smell. We tried cleaning both the toilet and the shower with cleaning products, but this had no effect. This significantly affected our stay. It was very unpleasant to go to sleep in a bedroom that smelled of sewage, and all four of us felt unwell to varying degrees during the trip. We cannot say with certainty that this was caused by the apartment, but the strong sewage smell made us concerned about the indoor air quality and whether the conditions could be harmful to health. In addition to the smell, the apartment was generally in poor condition: ● Cups and glasses on the shelves were not clean. ● The air conditioning unit was leaking water, but did work fine despite that. ● Several electrical sockets were in very poor condition, especially in the bedroom and bathroom. ● The socket in the bedroom seemed so worn and unsafe that we questioned whether it was safe to use at all. ● There were silverfish or similar insects in the bathroom, which meant we had to keep all our luggage off the floor. ● The elevator appeared dirty and unpleasant, and the doors closed forcefully even when people were standing in the doorway. Overall, we experienced the apartment as being of an unacceptable standard.

Ubicación. Y atención del propietario ante lo sucedido.

− El sitio puede ser modesto, el sitio puede no estar nuevo, pero limpio, que es algo que podría estar sí o sí siempre, tampoco estaba. Muy decepcionante en este aspecto. Entiendo que por la ubicación en la que está puedan cobrar más de 200€ la noche por este cuchitril pero llevar la limpieza al límite es de sinvergüenza. Ni en los hostels más baratos me ha pasado de abrir las sábanas y encontrarme pelos de otra gente y el colmo es que me pidan que tire la basura cuando no son capaces de gastarse 90centimos y dejarte un estropajo nuevo para que friegues tus platos. Había 3, todos con restos de comida de clientes anteriores. Hemos pasado de querer pasar unos días para descansar, a solo venir al apartamento lo estricto y necesario para ducharnos (con chanclas por supuesto) y dormir. Descartado queda también el tomarte un café a gusto, ya que te encuentras una cafetera Nespresso con una cápsula atascada y otras tantas acumuladas en el cajetín, con moho. A parte, un colchón malísimo, un olor a cañería que tira para atrás, la persiana del dormitorio no baja, la mitad de los enchufes están destrozados y pese a que solicitamos la hoja de reclamaciones en menos de 14 horas, no nos la enviaron nunca pero sí que fueron amables y comprensibles a la hora de hacer checkout del apartamento y devolvernos las noches no disfrutadas.

the apartment was very comfortable. although it was on the 4th floor, i think its more like the 6th floor, luckily, they have a lift. The apartment was nice n comfy, liked that it had netflix n amazon prime, so we could watch english videos. It's also in a very good location, about 10 mins to placa de catalunya and less than 5 mins to passage metro. Attractions were just round the corner as well. Walking distance to La Rambla n shopping. They even had airconditioning!! woo hoo!! Owners were also flexible with us dropping off our luggage early.
