− My partner and I recently completed a 3 night stay here. The location was not great, being a 15 minute walk from Oji station (a very hot walk in peak summer). It was also quite small, even for Japanese standards, but that was not the main problem. On our last night, we found a cockroach crawling up the wall by the bed at around midnight. We spent the next few hours trying to kill the cockroach, finally managing to do so at 2am. Who knows how long that cockroach had been in the room for! As well as being a health hazard, the time spent dealing with the cockroach forced us to cancel plans the following morning in order to find somewhere to catch up on lost sleep. We didn't have the option to look for alternative accommodation on the night in question as it was past midnight. While trying to kill the cockroach, we found anti-cockroach sprays and traps, which shows that cockroaches in the apartment is a known and evidently unsolved problem. We contacted Maison de Takinogawa for compensation. Disappointingly, they replied that "cockroaches are prevalent in the city, especially at this time of the year" and that it is "nearly impossible" to prevent cockroaches in the room. They also refused to give us any compensation. I grew up in Japan and go back every summer, so I know that although cockroaches exist, there are certain things that can be done to prevent their entry into a home and it is not normal to have them in the house. There is clearly an unmanaged problem with cockroaches, which is likely exacerbated by some of the apartments in the complex being below ground level. I would recommend other travelers to stay away, given their disappointing response. A hotel would be better located, have a larger room, likely cheaper and have a 24hour reception that can easily move you to another room in case of difficulties like this. The property had everything it needed! Was nice and bathroom is awesome. Wish it had a bidet though.

− The location is far from station. Around 1 km walk but theres a 7 eleven super nearby. You have to make sure to ask lots of question bec the property is inside a complex so it was a bit hard to find especially at night The bed sheets were also not clean and pillows didnt smell good. Place was not as clean as i thought
