The Location of this accommodation was perfect! We travelled as a family of 7 adults and this place gave us enough beds and space. It does have a lot of stairs. The first and second set are standard Japanese style stairs, the third set to the top floor are on an angle similar to a ladder... very steep and difficult to carry large luggage up. We managed, but small children or older persons may struggle. During our stay the large refrigerator pictured in the kitchen was not working, the hosts did provide a small bar fridge, but this was difficult as it was hot and we had a lot of drinks (not sure if this has been fixed yet?). The shower on the upper level can only be used if no one is present in the kitchen - lols! The bedrooms were a decent size, especially the one with the lounge. The platform bed uses a futon, so it might not suit persons with a sore back, etc. The rest of the rooms have elevated beds with varying sized mattresses. It was nice having a toilet on each level and the main bathroom was large and suitable for bigger groups. We booked this accommodation for its easy walk to two train stations and Sunshine City. It was absolutely central to everything in Ikebukuro!

− The small refrigerator and the lack of basic supplies such as trash bags, toilet paper and washing machine liquid. Minor complaints, but for a family of 7 staying for over a week, they needed to be supplied.

Some ones have keys to walked in place. There were 2 times we had to tell we rented the Place. 3 floor set up was never explained 90 years old ended up to get assistant for up &down stairs.

Would not recommend this property. It is falsely advertised. Needs to be cleaned properly.

The location was the only good thing about this property. The hosts were also very responsive and were willing for us to leave earlier than our departure date with a refund of nights not stayed and no cleaning fee charged.

− The photos and description on the advertisement for this property are not accurate. It states it is a recently renovated property, but there are no signs of any recent renovations. There is a toilet and shower in the kitchen. There is an overpowering smell of mould and then there are several air fresheners spread throughout the property to try and hide the mould smell. There is obvious signs of mould on walls and fixtures throughout the property. The beds were uncomfortable, we ended up having to double up mattresses where we could to try and make the beds more comfortable. Wardrobe door was broken and almost fell on one of our heads. There was only room and enough chairs for 5 people around the dining table, but advertisement states it can accommodate up to 9 people. We ended up organising with the hosts to leave earlier than our booked departure date as the smell and uncomfortableness made it unbearable to be there. This made us lose one whole day of our travel plans, having to find other accommodation, pack and travel to the new accommodation.

Great location to Ikebukuro area. There are enough beds for our group with 3 toilets that can accommodate our big group (11pax).

− The 2nd shower room located on 3rd fl is 1sqm size with nothing to hang the towel so you have to place it outside. It is located on the kitchen/dining area and awkward to shower when people are around because though it's smoked glass, there's no privacy as your naked body is visible outside. Therefore, should not have someone around when you shower unless you are ok being seen naked. The stairs are very steep from ground fl. The rooms are located on 1st, 2nd and 3rd level, it was inconvenient to bring the luggage during check-in and check out. We are a group of 11 but only 7 pairs of sleepers were allocated. Overall, we only sleep during our 4 nights stay as we are always out. Nevertheless, it's going to be inconvenient for big built guests. Luckily most of us are of small frame.
